Children of Revolution https://newoutlookpublishers.store/shop/countries/soviet/children-of-revolution/ https://newoutlookpublishers.store/shop/countries/soviet/children-of-revolution/#respond Wed, 05 Jun 2024 22:04:45 +0000 https://newoutlookpublishers.store/shop/uncategorized/children-of-revolution/ Children of Revolution tells the story of the John Reed Children’s Colony on the Volga. The book is also a narrative of the entire Russian society and its political structure during the revolution. The story is set in the early 1920s when the world was undergoing a major political transformation. The narrative revolves around the children’s colony, which was established by the American Communist Party to provide a safe haven for orphaned and homeless children. The book describes the daily life of the children, their education, and the challenges they faced in a country that was rapidly changing. The author also provides an in-depth analysis of the political situation in Russia during that time, including the rise of the Bolsheviks, the establishment of the Soviet Union, and the impact of the revolution on the lives of ordinary people. Children of Revolution is a fascinating account of a unique experiment in social engineering and a vivid portrayal of a pivotal moment in world history.

It took place with an armed insurrection in Petrograd on October 25, 1917, in the Julian calendar (November 7 in the modern Gregorian calendar).

The revolution was led by the Bolsheviks, who used their influence in the Petrograd Soviet to organize the armed forces. Bolshevik Red Guards forces under the Military Revolutionary Committee began the occupation of government buildings. The following day, the Winter Palace ( the seat of the Provisional government located in Petrograd, then capital of Russia) was captured.

Sputnik is a news service of the Russian government that began in November 2014. It offers high-quality news and analysis available in English as well as other languages. (One article, on the Katyn Massacre, was published by Russia-Insider, an independent online source since September 2014 dedicated to media criticism). In these pieces, Blinova draws on the work and views of scholars in the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Russia and Poland to question the interpretation of certain events in the history of the Soviet Union and Europe promoted by western writers and politicians during the Cold War to feed animosity toward the Soviet Union.

He was a man to be feared by the enemies of the revolution, a man whose life was a never-ending struggle to realize the ideals of communism. Though short, his life was full and eventful. A convinced Bolshevik-Leninist, who following the victory of the Bolshevik Revolution served as Chairman of the Vechecka, People’s Commissar of Transport, and Chairman of the Supreme Economic Council of the USSR. He was a truly popular hero who struck terror into the bourgeoisie. Fellow- Bolsheviks nick-named him “iron Felix”, paying tribute to his loyalty to the cause of revolution.

The leaders and media of the capitalist world use the trials as evidence of the so-called evils of Communism, but what is the truth?

The compilation of works details the truth behind the trials of the Trotskyite-Rightist bloc of counter-revolutionaries. Included are first hand accounts of the events that unfolded during the trials. We here from noted American and Soviet authors Sam Darcy, Earl Browder, Alexander Bittelman, E. Yaroslavsky, Israel Amter, and William Z. Foster.

Fraud, Famine and Fascism: The Ukrainian Genocide Myth from Hitler to Harvard By Douglas Tottle https://newoutlookpublishers.store/shop/countries/soviet/fraud-famine-and-fascism-the-ukrainian-genocide-myth-from-hitler-to-harvard/ https://newoutlookpublishers.store/shop/countries/soviet/fraud-famine-and-fascism-the-ukrainian-genocide-myth-from-hitler-to-harvard/#respond Wed, 10 Jun 2020 04:12:10 +0000 https://johnreedcenter.net/nop/shop/fraud-famine-and-fascism-the-ukrainian-genocide-myth-from-hitler-to-harvard/ This book argues that charges of a deliberate Soviet policy of genocide by famine directed against the Ukrainian nation in the early 1930s are based on inflated figures and fabricated evidence. This campaign was initiated by extreme right-wing forces in the USA and Nazi propagandists, and has continued since the 1950s by Ukrainian emigre organizations. Some writers have accused the Jews and "Stalin's Jewish government" of deliberately causing the famine. Ch. 9 (pp. 102-119), "Collaboration and Collusion, " discusses Ukrainian nationalist involvement in pogroms and assistance to the Germans during the Holocaust, particularly the faction led by Stepan Bandera and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. also describes how ex-members of these groups and of Ukrainian Waffen-SS units were enabled to enter the USA and Canada after the war.

Ten Days That Shook The World By John Reed https://newoutlookpublishers.store/shop/countries/soviet/ten-days-that-shook-the-world/ https://newoutlookpublishers.store/shop/countries/soviet/ten-days-that-shook-the-world/#respond Mon, 20 Apr 2020 04:13:56 +0000 https://johnreedcenter.net/nop/shop/ten-days-that-shook-the-world/ This book is a slice of intensified history--history as I saw it. It does not pretend to be anything but a detailed account of the November Revolution, when the Bolsheviki, at the head of the workers and soldiers, seized the state power of Russia and placed it in the hands of the Soviets.

Naturally most of it deals with “Red Petrograd,” the capital and heart of the insurrection. But the reader must realize that what took place in Petrograd was almost exactly duplicated, with greater or lesser intensity, at different intervals of time, all over Russia.

In this book, the first of several which I am writing, I must confine myself to a chronicle of those events which I myself observed and experienced, and those supported by reliable evidence; preceded by two chapters briefly outlining the background and causes of the November Revolution. I am aware that these two chapters make difficult reading, but they are essential to an understanding of what follows.

Soviet Democracy and Bourgeois Democracy By M.B. Mitin https://newoutlookpublishers.store/shop/countries/soviet/soviet-democracy-and-bourgeois-democracy/ https://newoutlookpublishers.store/shop/countries/soviet/soviet-democracy-and-bourgeois-democracy/#respond Mon, 03 Dec 2018 04:08:58 +0000 https://johnreedcenter.net/nop/shop/soviet-democracy-and-bourgeois-democracy/ Written by B. Mitin and published in 1949, this reprint helps the reader see the true Soviet democracy.

The question of democracy, of how it is to be correctly understood, of the fundamental distinction between Soviet socialist democracy and bourgeois democracy is a highly important question of our time.

Since the Great October Socialist Revolution there have been revealed to the full the great advantages possessed by Soviet socialist democracy, and the decay, crisis and utter decline of bourgeois democracy.

The Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union against Hitler Germany showed the invincible strength of the Soviet social and state system. The war showed that "...the Soviet social system is a better form of organization of society than any non-Soviet social system." The war showed that the Soviet system of state is the best state system ever known to history.
